Lauren and Hunter will represent the AISA West Team in a game played on Friday, February 17th at 6:00 pm on the campus of Huntingdon College in Montgomery. The 45th annual AISA All Star Basketball game was played at St James School in Montgomery on Friday, February 20, 2015. Rush Hixon and Megan Johnson represented Pike Liberal Arts School on AISA's West Teams.

Pike Liberal Arts 47, Escambia Academy 41 – On Friday, Megan Johnson had 21 points and Lauren Johnson 12 for the Patriots.


Player of the Year: Chandler Avant, Pike Liberal Arts


Honorable Mention: Brian Adams, Pike Liberal Arts 

Avant averaged 23 points, seven rebounds and six assists per game for the Patriots. He led Pike in nearly every statistical category, and often drew double and triple teams. He was also named team MVP in the AISA All-Star Game.

Congratulations to, our own, Chandler Avant for being named the East All Star MVP from the all star basketball game which was played at Huntington College. Marlee Tunstill and Katie Ward represented the Patriots in the girls' all-star game played earlier this evening.

Join me in congratulating all three of these student athletes and their families.


1.31.14: AISA Regional Basketball Tournament

The AISA  Regional Basketball Tournament  will be held at Macon East in Cecil on Friday (January 31), Saturday (February 1), and Monday (February 3).   The PLAS Varsity Boys will play Glenwood at 12:30 p.m. and the PLAS Varsity Girls will play Lee-Scott at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, January 31.  I have attached a tournament bracket for your review. Please note that all games listed have been moved back a day.  Admission to the tournament is  $7.00 for adults and $5.00 for students.

1.29.14: AISA Regional Basketball Tournament Update: 1/29/14

Due to the inclement weather, the AISA has postponed the Regional Basketball tournament until Friday, Saturday, and next Monday.  

The PLAS Varsity Boys will play Glenwood at 12:30 p.m. and the PLAS Varsity Girls will play Lee-Scott at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, January 31. Please check the PLAS Athletics website for further updates.

1.14.14: Basketball Update


We are set to host Macon East later today in a full slate of games. Our JV girls will start the action at 4:00 pm. 

We host our final home basketball game on Friday as Hooper comes to town. The JV girls are set to tip off at 4:00 pm. Senior Night Ceremonies are set to begin at the conclusion of the girls' varsity game. 

Please make plans to attend both games in appreciation of how well these student athletes have represented our school during the home basketball season.

11.19.13: Basketball season off to good start

Basketball season is well underway with a full slate of games being played this past Saturday, 11/16 in which we took 3 out of  the 4 games from Ashford. We hosted a girls' only double bill against Edgewood due to their participation in Friday's football championship game in which we split. Our varsity won while our JV fell. The schedule does not get any easier as we host Springwood on Thursday in a full slate of games.
