Volleyball - "Patriots fall to Hooper in regionals"

 



Pike Liberal Arts volleyball season came to an end Monday in the AISA regional tournament after they fell in straight games to Hooper Academy, 25-9, 26-24, 25-18, at the Will and Kelly Wilson Community and Athletic Center on the campus of Huntingdon College. “We just got beat,” head coach Mendy Avant said after the match. “It’s hard to explain because we played them tough this season. They just beat us.” Pike didn’t help themselves either as they were called for eight double hits, four coming in game one.....

Patriots Grind Way to Victory!

Prattville Christian gave Pike Liberal Arts a fight but the Patriots kept the ball churning on the ground to come away victorious, 23-6.  Pike (4-2, 1-2) was tested by Prattville Christian’s defensive front. The Panthers held the Patriots to just 250 total offensive yards.  Nick McLaughlin, who has rushed for over 1,000 yards already this season, picked up another 168 on 34 carries.  The Patriots took an early lead on a 23-yard Luke LaBrandt field goal on Pike’s opening drive....
