Yesterday was a busy day on our athletic calendar with varsity volleyball and three football teams in action. Our varsity volleyball team fell to Eastwood (21-25 and 23-25) and to Evangel (10-25 and 12-24) in yesterday tri-match hosted by Eastwood in Montgomery. Both Eastwood and Evangel are very good volleyball teams. Our football teams won two out of three games in Auburn against Lee Scott. Our termite team won 12-8 while the peewee team fell 6-18. The JV team won 32-6 with Lee Scott scoring their lone touchdown with nine seconds to play in the ballgame.

There are no games scheduled for today. Volleyball will be at home tomorrow afternoon with a home match (JV and Varsity) against the Glenwood Gators beginning at 3:30. We'll finish out the week with a home varsity football game against the Hooper Colts. Kickoff is set for 7:00 pm from DeWight Field at Delaney Kervin Stadium.

The Booster also fund the cost of officials, utilities, travel expenses, renovation, facility improvement etc.  We want to continue to build on a fine tradition of sports and academics. By joining the Sports Boosters and using our group buying power, we can lower the cost per student for equipment, uniforms and many other items. Every Patriot student and family will benefit.

A statement from the AISA concerning the upcoming Cheer and Dance Competition

"Due to the lack of participation, due to many factors, the Cheer and Dance Competition is being cancelled for August 22nd and will be rescheduled for later in September or early October
 - most likely
on a Sunday afternoon so not to interfere with college football
games, homecomings, and volleyball.  Our goal is to have a new date by the end of next week."
