Many of the activities and projects at PIKE are supported heavily by the Sports Boosters from funds generated completely outside the school’s General Fund Budget. Virtually all boys and girls sports receive monies from the Sports Boosters to purchase items such as uniforms and equipment. The Booster also fund the cost of officials, utilities, travel expenses, renovation, facility improvement etc.  We want to continue to build on a fine tradition of sports and academics. By joining the Sports Boosters and using our group buying power, we can lower the cost per student for equipment, uniforms and many other items. Every Patriot student and family will benefit.

The next Booster Club Meeting is set for Monday, August 15th at 6:00 pm in the school’s cafeteria. This will serve as the annual kickoff meeting. This is a mandatory meeting for the parents of all student athletes participating in fall sports as professionals will be on hand to discuss concussions and player safety. This meeting is mandatory for the parents of all termite, peewee, JV and varsity football players and cheerleaders,  as well as those playing JV and varsity volleyball.

Click the link above to download a pre-fillable membership form for your convenience. Individual / Family Membership is $40.00.  The Patriot Pride Family Membership Package which is both membership to the Booster Club and Family Passes is $250.00.

Thanks to everyone that came out on Monday evening for picture night. In spite of the rain and fluid schedule, we got almost every scheduled picture taken.

Please note that Steve Stubblefield from Townhouse Photography will be back on campus on Wednesday, August 10th to take all remaining program pictures. We will begin at 12:30 at the lower campus by taking individual pictures of any varsity football player that was missed on Monday. We will then move immediately to the remaining paid ad pictures. Steve will finish with the senior-athlete group pictures which will be used as cover photos. Everyone needing a photo and all SENIOR STUDENT ATHLETES (ONLY) need to be dressed in their uniforms and at the school office by 12:30.

Monday, August 1, 2016

With a little more than a week left before the beginning of the new school year we have several areas that need our attention before students arrive back on campus; therefore, Mrs. Baggett has scheduled a campus-wide workday for this Saturday (August 6th).  Areas of focus include:

Campus:

  • trim shrubbery around the upper campus,
  • put plants at front doors in new pots,
  • weed flower beds,
  • pressure wash the sidewalks
  • put out some pine straw in the flower beds at the upper campus
  • paint the outside doors

Athletic Side of Campus:

  • Please bring your pressure washers as the sidewalks and concourse area as well as the home and visitors bleachers are in need of cleaning.
  • Drag the football field and school parking lots.
  • The gym (area around the court, the corners and under the bleachers etc) needs cleaning. Please bring cleaning supplies if you plan on participating in the gym cleanup.
  • Touch up the girls' locker room floor

Saturday, July 30, 2016

REMINDER: Steve Stubblefield from Townhouse Photography will be on campus on Monday, August 1st to take pictures for the football program. Seniors athletes (ONLY) should be dressed in their uniform and at the electronic sign by 5:30 for the cover picture(s). Paid ads and all team / individual pictures will start at 6:30 on the football field. We will begin with paid advertising pictures and once complete move immediately into the team and individual pictures.

The following teams and all coaches / sponsors need to be dressed in their uniform at the stadium by 6:30:

  3. Junior Varsity Cheer
  4. Junior Varsity Football
  5. Varsity Volleyball
  6. Junior Varsity Volleyball

This is always a big undertaking. We have taken steps to avoid some of the chaos from years past. All students should remain with their respective groups to avoid unnecessary delays. We have several students participating in multiple sports but the order above should allow time for them to change in or out of their uniform.

The Stadium:
  1. The area outside the softball fence to the football practice field and up the hill to the stadium needs cutting with a bush-hog

PIKE's varsity baseball team is set to host the first round of the 2016 AISA state baseball playoffs on Friday against the Hooper Colts. This best of three series will begin with a double header on Friday at 3:00 pm. A third game will be played on Saturday at 1:00 pm if necessary.  Tickets can be purchased at the gate and are $7.00 per day for adults and $5.00 per day for students (Athletic passes cannot be used for admittance).

Please contact Sarah McKenzie (334.482.0701 or smckenzie93530@troy.edu ) to sign up for a specific rotation at the gate or in the concession stand. Please sign up for Friday first since we are hopeful that the Saturday game won't need to be played.
