AISA All-Star Football Game
The AISA All-Star Football Game will be Friday night, December 6, 2013, at Cramton Bowl in Montgomery, AL. There will be two gates opened at Madison Avenue; therefore, parking is encouraged across the street from each gate. The Montgomery Police Department will be there to assist with the crossing of Madison. The West is the home team and will enter at the upper gate (press box side), with East being visitors and entering at the lower gate.
Admission is $7 for adults and $5 for students.

The True Pike Patriot Award was established to recognize annually, an individual who exemplifies the qualities of patriotism and the value those same qualities bring to our athletics program and school. The recipient reflects the positive spirit of those attributes we most closely associate with a patriot and whose attitude and personality reflect their love of Pike Liberal Arts on the fields of competition and in life.
- A True Pike Patriot loves God, country, and family and understands that personal actions and attitude are reflections are often a measurement this commitment.
- A True Pike Patriot realizes that if the freedom of one is violated, the freedom of all is at risk.
- A True Pike Patriot values the concept of team before self and perseveres at all times.

The True Pike Patriot Award is given out annually at the Fall Sports' Banquet. Previous recipient's are Kevin Adams (2011) and Layne Wise (2012). Please join me in congratulating the 2013 True Pike Patriot - Mark Calk. Mark has worked tirelessly behind the scenes to make PLA a better school for many years. Among his many contributions to PLA, Mark has served as Chairman of the Board of Trustees on two occasions, served as the schools' Treasurer and served as the membership chairman of the sports boosters.
Please join me in congratulating Mark on this award and thanking him for his efforts to make PLA a better school.

2013 Fall Sports Banquet: Tues 12/3 - 6:00 p.m.
The Fall Sports Banquet is set for Tuesday, December 3, 2013 at 6:00 pm in the school's cafetorium. This event will honor all student athletes that participated in all JV and Varsity sports during the fall, meaning JV and Varsity Volleyball, JV Football and JV Cheerleaders, Varsity Football, Mangers, Water Girls, Varsity Cheerleaders and all Dance Team members.
We will follow the same format of past banquets in order to keep this a free event.

Pepsi Softball Fundraiser Pick Up: Thursday 11/21 after 10AM
Pepsi orders will be available for pick-up anytime after 10 AM on Thursday, November 21 at the Boys Weight Room.
Please note that Sunkist orders will not be available for pick-up as this is on special order and will not be in for a few more weeks. Coach Park will announce this pick-up date when it becomes available.
Help Needed: Sweets for Friday
Pike Liberal Arts is responsible for sweets in the hospitality room at the triple header Friday at Troy University. Please have your sweets in the school office by 3:30 pm Thursday. Thanks so much for your support!
Boston Butt Sale
The Booster Club is taking pre-orders for a Boston Butt Sale which will coincide with the upcoming SEC Championship Game. The Boston Butt's will weigh 8-9 pounds pre-cooked. They will be picked up on Friday, December 6th behind the Gym between the hours of 8 am – 5:00 pm. All pre-orders must be received by Tuesday, December 3.

AISA Triple Header Football Championships: Nov. 22 - Troy University
The AISA Triple
header Football Championships will be held on Friday, November 22 at Veterans
Memorial Stadium on the campus of Troy University. The A Championship
game will kickoff at noon and will be followed by the AA championship
game at 3:30 and by the AAA championship game at 7:00 pm.
Since this is
held in Troy, PLA serves as host. We are in need
of desserts (pies, cakes or sweets of any kind) for the hospitality

or 268-1537) if you are willing to help us out with this requirement. Coach
Avant needs all dishes brought to the school on Thursday (11.21.2013) afternoon

Work Day: Help Needed
The Booster Club set this Saturday (November 9th) as a work day to clean the gym. We will begin at 8:00 a.m. We need to clean the foyer, both boys and girls locker rooms and the area under the bleachers. We also need to arrange the large trophy case in the foyer and then clean the floor. Please bring cleaning supplies.

Fall Athletes' Senior Night
Pike Liberal Arts School is excited to honor the Senior athletes that have been competing this fall. We are so proud of their leadership in athletics and academics. Please plan on coming out to support them as we recognize them on their special day.
- Friday, October 18 for all Senior Football players, Cheerleaders, Water-girls, and Dance Team members. The Senior Night recognition activities will begin before the Football game. All parents and seniors should report to the football field at 6:20 p.m.
- Tuesday, October 15 for Senior Volleyball players. The Volleyball Senior Night will begin after the JV Volleyball game.

Volleyball Takes First Two Wins
The Lady Patriots are off to a good start as they swept past Glenwood on Monday. They also beat Ft. Dale Academy Tuesday afternoon, claiming the match with wins of 25-19, 25-15 and 25-11.

Fall Sports Program Pictures
Football sports program pictures will be made Monday, August 5, at 7:30 pm at the PLAS football field. Senior athletes for all sports will meet at 7:00 pm to make the cover photo for the program. Other pictures for the program include all fall sports and any ad that has a picture included.
