Pike Liberal Arts wins AISA Class AAA baseball state championship

MONTGOEMRY – Trailing 10-1, Pike Liberal Arts scored 14 runs in the bottom of the fifth inning to take the lead. Patriots have chance to erase past

What do the Pike Liberal Arts Patriots and the Texas Rangers have in common? Both have lost the last two championship series.

Texas lost to the San Francisco Giants in 2010 then the St. Louis Cardinals in 2011. The Patriots have fallen to Glenwood School the past two seasons.

Great teams lose championships, it happens. But they also find a way to win them.

To this point, Pike has put some very good teams on the field but has failed to win the big one. Great teams win the big one.....

PLAS looking to make another playoff run



Pike Liberal Arts has felt its share of disappointment the past two seasons. Losing the state championship in consecutive years is a tough pill to swallow but ask the players on this season’s team and they will tell you things could be different this year.

“If we get back to the championship, I think we have a good chance,” designated hitter Reid Dickey said. “I think this could be the year.”...

1st Round of Baseball Playoffs

The Patriot baseball team willl host Bessemer Academy in the 1st round of the state playoffs this Thursday and Friday, April 26 & 27. This is a best of 3 games series.  A double header will be played Thursday beginning at 4:00 pm.  If the two teams split the double header, the 3rd game will be played Friday at 4:00 pm.  Please come out and support the Patriot baseball team!

JV Baseball & Softball games today have been cancelled!!

The JV baseball and softball games scheduled today with Springwood have been cancelled due to rain.  We are trying to reschedule the games and will let you know as soon as we do.

Soccer Schedule Update

We have flip-flopped home and away for our two soccer matches with Lee-Scott. The game on Friday March 2nd has been moved to Lee-Scott @ 5:00pm and the match on Wednesday April 4th has been moved to Pike @ 5:00pm.  The schedules online have been updated.  Sorry, if this causes any problems.  Please continue to check the athletic blog for future updates.  Thanks!
